No Numbers...Just Words
The 2024 vintage at Garys’ Vineyard was characterized by warm periods (a week to 10 days or warmer, but not hot weather), followed by a similar period of cooler weather. September turned consistently mild, leading to harvest on September 20, 2024 – just slightly earlier than the historic norm. In tank, the wine initially seemed more approachable than previous vintages, but structure developed quickly and I pressed it off to barrel after only 15 days on the skins.
“As usual, the Garys’ Pinot Noir is the most structured and weighty of the Clarice trio. There’s a floral component to the bouquet along with savory notes, and the palate is bold and rich with dark red and blue fruit flavors accompanied by an herbal spice note. As with the 2023, the mouth feel is silky and elegant with refined tannins and a long, graceful and rich finish. .” – I-Wine Review
